POTSDAM WORKSHOP

On the 27th of September 2019, the SIGs of the WGGC met in Potsdam, Germany, to discuss their activities of 2019 and their plans for 2020. The WGGC SIGs workshop took place after the workshop of the Central Coordination Unit of the NGS Competence Centers, where representatives from all the four national Competence Centers (Dresden, Kiel, Tubingen, and the WGGC) met to discuss progresses, challenges and plans.

The workshops were organized in combination with the annual meeting of the AGD (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Gen-Diagnostik). With a focus on “Artificial intelligence meets genomics”, this year’s meeting addressed the opportunities for further integration of NGS and AI in medical applications. The WGGC contributed to the first session, dedicated to the advancements in NGS technologies and the role of Competence Centers.
